What is Target Zone Training All About
Designed by Cathe Friedrich, Target Zone Training (TZT) is the latest concept in fitness featuring high-intensity-interval-training (HiiT) and is based on a simple concept – If it doesn’t challenge you it doesn’t change you!
High-intensity interval training is a form of training in which you alternate between periods of very hard exercise and periods of easy to moderate exercise. The intense period generally gets you into the anaerobic zone, or between 80 and 90% of your maximum heart rate. HiiT training revs up your metabolism, increasing the rate at which your body consumes oxygen for up to 48 hours after your workout (the afterburn effect) which means you keep burning extra calories for 24 to 48 hours after completing your workout.
Our small group training classes offer a more affordable option than individual personal training sessions for those who are looking for motivation, coaching and a structured exercise program to reach their weight loss and fitness goals.
To keep you motivated every class participant wears a “MyZone” monitoring system that we provide that measures heart rate, calories burned and effort in real time, helping users reach their fitness goals. Each user’s information is then displayed on giant TV’s during the class along with their fellow class participant’s stats. There is no faking it in these classes, the performance monitor doesn’t lie! *You may purchase also purchase your own private performance monitor if wish to.
All fitness levels are welcome as Target Zone Training offers classes specifically designed for everyone from beginners to elite performance athletes. All classes are 30 to 55 mins in length and use a variety of equipment like TRX, Treadmills, Helix Lateral Trainers, Spinner Bikes, Weights, GTS Total Gyms and more.
Because we monitor your heart rate you will always train in just the right zone for your ability and the type of class being offered.
